The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery acknowledges the humanitarian work of Elena Barraquer

The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCR) has awarded Dr. Elena Barraquer with a certificate recognising her extraordinary and tireless efforts to provide humanitarian aid through voluntary eye care in disadvantaged countries, in the area of blindness caused by cataracts. 

In addition, Dr. Elena Barraquer has recently been nominated for the Chang Humanitarian Award 2020, a prestigious prize presented annually by the ASCR to an individual, team or organisation for their inspiring accomplishments in humanitarian eye care, including blindness caused by cataracts.
