We usually go to the optician when we notice changes in our eyesight or when our glasses break. Actually, it is advisable to carry out an annual eye check-up to detect alterations or pathologies that do not present symptoms, such as glaucoma. We should not wait to perceive a deterioration in our vision to undergo an eye check-up. Early detection of certain pathologies can avoid irreversible consequences.
Beyond bearing in mind the previous recommendation, there are signs that may indicate that your eye prescription has changed and, therefore, it is necessary to check it to update it. If you begin to see blurry images at medium or long distance, or if you notice that your eyes are getting more tired than usual, it is advisable to go to a specialist. If you have frequent headaches or difficulties appear to perform tasks at a short distance, it is also advisable to check your eye prescription.
If you are contact lens wearers, you should go to the examination without having used them during the previous 24 or 48 hours, depending on whether they are soft or semi-rigid contact lenses. This is due to the fact that its use modifies the geometry of our cornea and the result of the eye prescription would not adjust to reality.
