Blepharolaser: new technique for blepharoplasty

The main objective of blepharoplasty, whether performed with a laser or conventionally, is to improve the appearance of the eyelids by correcting imperfections such as drooping eyebrows, excess eyelid skin, fat bags or wrinkles around the eyes. In severe cases where excess skin on the upper eyelids affects vision, it can also improve visual function.

Laser blepharoplasty, also known as blepharolaser, and conventional blepharoplasty involve the removal of excess skin, fat, or muscle around the eyes through surgical incisions.

In the case of laser blepharoplasty, a laser is used to perform the entire procedure. Using a laser allows for more precise incisions and often eliminates the need for coagulating blood vessels, as the cuts are so precise that the tissue usually does not bleed. Additionally, the laser can achieve a tightening effect on the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving the skin’s firmness and elasticity. This allows for the treatment of very fine wrinkles on the lower eyelids without the needing to remove skin.

The use of lasers in blepharoplasty offers certain benefits in terms of precision and control during surgery. This treatment is primarily used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of the eyelids and the area around the eyes.
