We performed eye examinations to 34 people at the IRES Foundation

The Fundación IRES is an entity with more than 50 years of history specialized in providing comprehensive care to families through a multidisciplinary team that works together so that families in vulnerable situations have the necessary social, psychological and educational support to build a new future.es una entidad con más de 50 años de historia especializada en proporcionar atención integral a las familias a través de un equipo multidisciplinar que se sincroniza para que las familias en situación de vulnerabilidad tengan el acompañamiento social, psicológico y educativo necesario para construir un nuevo futuro.
Following the calendar of the Mirem per tu program, the Barraquer Foundation organized last Wednesday, December 15, a day of comprehensive eye check-ups at the center that the Fundació Ires has in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona, and more specifically in the Provençals de Poblenou neighborhood, where it displays a wide ecosystem of social action projects with which each year they serve more than 800 people of all ages.
During the day, a total of 34 users of the entity were visited, 15 of which should go to General Optica in the coming weeks to undergo a more exhaustive optometric review, determine the exact graduation and get glasses that allow them to solve your vision problems; another 12 people with possible ocular pathologies will be visited soon at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center with the appropriate specialist in each case.
We especially appreciate the selfless collaboration of Dr. María Ruiz and Dr. Santiago Tañá, resident physicians of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center; and Cristina Prieto, optometrist at the Francesc Macià store at General Optica. We also want to highlight the work and excellent organization of our colleague from the Fundació Ires Carles Nieto, who made our work much easier at all times.
In January, following the planned itinerary, we will organize the next revision day that will take place at the Fundació Albert, located in the Borne neighborhood of Barcelona.
