Collaboration agreement with the Fundación Obra Mercedaria

A few days ago, we visited the headquarters of the Fundación Obra Mercedaria, an organization located in Barcelona's Raval district. The foundation focuses on supporting and caring for individuals deprived of liberty, helping them to redirect their behavior, avoid reoffending, and accompanying them throughout their process of reintegration and personal development.

With the help of its director, Nuria Ortín, we had the opportunity to meet a group of users at the center who were participating in a workshop. We had a brief conversation with them, during which we explained the social work of the Barraquer Foundation and offered our resources in the field of visual health. Among the attendees was Antonio, who had recently undergone cataract surgery at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center through the “Mirem per tu” aid program, and he repeatedly expressed his gratitude to us.

At the end of the visit, we signed a collaboration agreement to provide ophthalmological assistance to beneficiaries of the Fundació Obra Mercedaria who have vision problems.
